What Is a D‑U‑N‑S Number?

The D‑U‑N‑S Number is nine-digits long and was designed by Dun and Bradstreet. It is a unique reference to identify businesses in its databases. Clients can use the D‑U‑N‑S Number to identify a specific business within the Dun and Bradstreet database. 

 

Clients use the D‑U‑N‑S Numbers to identify a debtor, competitor, etc. and can then establish their credit status and risk assessment. The databases are constantly updated to maintain up-to-date information on more than 330 million global businesses. The D‑U‑N‑S Number also enables clients to identify relationships between businesses and group structures. 

 

 

The D‑U‑N‑S Number is used globally to identify and access information on businesses worldwide which are in the Dun and Bradstreet databases.
